Getting started

Requirements

What a site needs before you connect it:

• WordPress 6.0 or newer
• PHP 7.4 or newer
• Divi 5, with your own Elegant Themes licence
• A DiviVault account

Install the plugin

1. Download the DiviVault plugin.
2. In WordPress admin, go to Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin, and choose the file you downloaded.
3. Activate the plugin.

Connect your site

Open the DiviVault page in WordPress admin and click Connect Now to link the site to your DiviVault account. Each WordPress user signs in to their own account, so a shared site can have several people connected separately.

Once connected, the DiviVault page shows your account name, email and plan. Log Out disconnects the site, after you confirm.

Open the library

Click the DiviVault button in the Visual Builder's builder bar and your library opens right inside the builder, without leaving the page you're editing.

From the library you can:

• Browse your saved layouts, sections, rows and modules, each with its thumbnail if you captured one.
• Add any item to the page with Use This Layout, Use This Section, Use This Row or Use This Module. For layouts, choose whether to replace what's on the page or add to it.
• Search by name, description or CSS code, filter by category or tag, and sort by date or name.
• Mark items as favorites and show just your favorites.
• Sign in and connect the site straight from the library if it isn't connected yet.

The library window can be dragged, resized, expanded and snapped into place.

Save sections, rows and modules

Right-click any section, row or module in the Visual Builder and choose Save to DiviVault. The element is now in your library and ready to use on any connected site.

The save window lets you:

• Give the item a name.
• Choose its type: Layout or CSS Snippet.
• Choose the layout type: Module, Row, Section or full Layout, which decides where it shows in the Insert tab.
• Pick a category, or create a new one without leaving the form.
• Add tags. Your existing tags are suggested as you type.
• Capture a screenshot to use as the thumbnail, and retake it if you need to.

Save a full page

Open the gear menu in the builder's page bar and choose Save Page to DiviVault. Every section on the page is saved together as one layout, and the first section is used to capture the thumbnail.

The Insert tab

DiviVault adds its own tab to Divi's Insert Section, Row and Module window, so your saved designs sit right next to Divi's own options.

• Whatever you pick goes exactly where you clicked the plus button.
• The tab only shows what fits that spot: sections when you're adding a section, rows for a row, modules for a module.
• Show All switches to your full library whenever you need it.
• You can search, filter, sort and page through results, and Open Dashboard opens your DiviVault dashboard in a new tab.

CSS snippets

A DiviVault button is added to every CSS editor in the Visual Builder: the Custom CSS field on a section, row or module, and Page Settings, Custom CSS.

• Save the CSS currently in the editor as a new snippet.
• Update one of your existing snippets: search for it, pick it, and your changes replace the old version.
• Import a saved snippet into the editor, either after the existing CSS or in place of it.

Code snippet library

A reusable library for the code you add across a whole site, like tracking codes and global CSS. A DiviVault button appears on the Divi Theme Options page, in the Custom CSS editor and in all four Integration code fields (head, body, top of posts, bottom of posts).

From the library you can save the code with a name, categories and tags, insert a snippet after the existing code or in place of it, copy it, edit it, export it in Divi's own snippet format, or delete it.

Theme Options snapshots

A DiviVault button is added to the header of the Divi Theme Options page, for administrators, once the site is connected.

• Save Theme Options To DiviVault saves every current setting as a snapshot, with a name, categories and tags.
• Browse From DiviVault lists your saved snapshots.
• Use This Theme Option applies a snapshot after you confirm, then reloads the page. Save a snapshot of the current settings first in case you want them back.
• Export a snapshot as a file Divi's own Theme Options import accepts. Premium (Export a snapshot as a file that Divi's own Theme Options import accepts.)

Design variables Premium

Save and import variable groups: Colors, Fonts, Gradients, Images, Links, Numbers and Text. Merge or replace on import.

DiviVault adds a cloud icon to each group in Divi's Variables manager:

• Save to DiviVault saves the whole group: Colors, Fonts, Gradients, Images, Links, Numbers or Text.
• Import from DiviVault opens your library on that group so you can bring saved variables into the site, merging with the site's current ones or replacing them.

Settings and feature toggles

Cloud Features, on the DiviVault page in WordPress admin, lets administrators switch each part of DiviVault on or off: Cloud Library, Insert Modal Tab, Save Module, Row and Section, Save Page, Save CSS Snippets, Design System Cloud, Theme Options Snapshots, Code Snippet Library and Paste From Cloud.
